Monogrammed & Chevron pattern...

This lucky cake gets to be added to my favorite list
of cakes I've done so far!
This was for a friend who was hosting a
bridal shower for her soon to be sister in law.
I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the chevron pattern
on the side of this cake.
I do have to give credit to Jessica Harris
with her technique of applying the stripes on the cake.

Jessica has her own blog at www.jessicakesblog.blogspot.com
I first discovered her a few months back.
Then she put up a Craftsy class on the amazing
www.craftsy.com page with this exact cake that I had just been asked to create!

So I have to thank her for her creative, quick and easy class that helped create this amazing cake!

Oh and Congratulations to the new soon to be
Mrs. Danielle DeGorter
for whom this cake was made for!

Wedding Season!

I love weddings and tis the season for them!
I have been honored to make a few wedding cakes over the past few weeks, 4 to be exact...phew...but they each turned out beautifully!

Superman was the theme to the grooms cake.  Not sure how he did this, but the groom proposed to his fiance wearing a superman costume, so what a way to honor that but with a superman theme grooms cake.

This cake can not be appreciated just yet, because the brides flowers are missing, but I was in love with the look of this cake!  Can't wait to see the final product with her flowers!

This beautiful wedding cake I did for a young bride who was married at St. Matthew and had her reception at Firethorne Country Club
Congratulations!

This beaufitul wedding cake was for a friend from elementary school!  Her and I have grown up together, I think we might have been in the same 5th or 6th grade class together, but we stayed in touch through Facebook and I was honored she asked me to make her wedding cake this past weekend.
Congratulations Laura and Vance!

Congratulations Mr. and Mrs. Pannell!

I was honored when a college friend asked me to create her wedding cake. She lived down the hall from me our freshmen year at Appalachian State University in Boone, NC and what a year we had together! I won't go into all our crazy, wild and amazing stories we shared that year, but thanks to Facebook, we reconnected and I was able to make her wedding cake this past weekend.

So simple, yet so pretty!!

Their cake topper - again just right!

I took this picture so you can see the height in this room and how she was able to bring her down to earth, backyard, relaxed feel to her reception. These were real trees with LED lights hanging on them. It really looked great as the evening went on!

Congratulations to the new Mr. and Mrs. Pannell!!

Almost forgot the Grooms Cake! Since both the bride and the groom went to ASU, what a fitting cake to have as his grooms cake. And to top this day off even more, March 3rd is the grooms birthday! Happy Birthday Rodney!

Congratulations to Magen and Jason!

Despite the rain and cold temperature that this past Saturday brought, these two young people were not going to let that stop their fabulous February wedding!

A simple, elegant, but modern feel to their wedding cake, a three tier square cake with simple red flowers and a black fondant band around each tier.

Congratulations to Magen and Jason!

And, the bride asked me to create a special surprise grooms cake, this is the US Soccer Crest.

Surprise and Congrats Jason!
