The Phi Lambda Chapter of Phi Theta Kappa at CPCC here in Charlotte was having their induction of a few hundred college students this afternoon and a friend of mine from Girl Scouts asked me to create a centerpiece cake for their reception. They were expecting over 600, close to 700 guests. Thank goodness I didn't have to make all the sheet cakes for that.
Thank goodness for BJ's wholesale club!
The cake here is a 12", 9" & 6" which should serve around 100 people or so.
She chose almond, chocolate and almond as her cake flavors.
I carved by hand the greek letters for the Fraternity and handmade the number 40 on top along with several stars both made with 50/50 fondant & gumpaste.
The chapter at CPCC was celebrating their 40th Anniversary.
