Hello all! I have been quite busy the last few weeks since my last post and I have finally had the time to sit and post some pictures of what I've been up to!
Here is the First cake that started out my cake week. I had a wedding shower cake to do for a wedding I am in, in July. I was unable to attend the shower, but managed to create this cake for the shower the same weekend I was out of town at a bachelorette party!
This is a White Almond Sour Cream cake with the Bridal Dress design
On to my FIRST Wedding Cake!! Whoo hoo!! This is the design picked out by the bride. She had a very modern wedding. She only invited immediate family, had her ceremony at the Dunhill Inn in uptown Charlotte, followed by a reception at the Capitol Grill.
This was a 3 tiered cake with a Chocolate 12 inch, a lemon 9 inch, and a vanilla 6 inch. Covered in buttercream icing and accented with marshmallow fondant.
Here is the Groom's Cake, he's a NY Yankee fan. This was a 6 inch Chocolate cake to look like a baseball. However, when I handed the cake in the cakebox to the hostess in the restaurant, she grabbed the box and placed her hand on top and smooshed the Y in the NY logo.
Sorry Beth, it was perfect when I got there, promise!
I no sooner got home but had to decorate another cake for a Birthday girl. She LOVES Ladybugs and had me create a 10 inch stacked Chocolate cake with raspberry filling.
On to the MOST important cake of the weekend.
A Birthday Cake for my daughter who turned 3!
She wanted an Ariel theme party and I went with an Under the Sea theme cake, plus it gave me more of an excuse to practice stacking cakes!
The bottom layer was a 9 inch Raspberry Cake with Raspberry icing with a 6 inch Vanilla cake with the same icing as the bottom.
Here you can see my attempt at creating Sebastian on the back of the cake!
Here is the Birthday girl with her plate, napkin and cup in hand ready for her slice of cake!
Happy 3rd Birthday Olivia!
As soon as her birthday was over I was back at it again with another birthday cake. This cake was for a Birthday boy who was turning 4 on Tuesday the 5th of May. His family won a gift certificate through Olivia's preschool family fun night. The little boy had a delicious yellow cake themed with his very own #4 Fire Truck.
(missing is the #4 that I put on the cake later!)
But wait...Olivia still had to have cupcakes for her preschool class, so I went at it again, this time with a blueberry flavor. Quite yummy!!
And on her actual birthday, Olivia a bigger blueberry size cake with shrinky dinks to help decorate the cake!
Happy Birthday Olivia!
So there you have it, I was a busy, busy, person the last 2 weeks.
